History of Calvary Chapel Deltona

Mark Winters, the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Deltona, came to the Lord in 1971 in Lewiston , New York through the revival of the Catholic Charismatic renewal that was sweeping our country at the time. Having grown up as a Catholic, he had entered the seminary where he was pursuing studies to become a Catholic priest. The following year he left the seminary and returned to his hometown of Jackson , Michigan where he eventually met and married his wife Sharon . They married in 1974 and have been blessed with two children, both of whom are grown adults and attend Calvary Chapel Deltona.

Pastor Mark spent many years in the corporate world, raising a family and attending various churches. Realizing the call of God in his life he entered the ministry in 1996 and became the Associate Pastor of Calvary Chapel Sawgrass in Davie , Florida .

With the encouragement and support of the leadership of Calvary Chapel Sawgrass , Pastor Mark and Sharon moved to Deltona and began the church at Deltona Lakes Elementary School on Easter Sunday of 2004. The Lord blessed the new fellowship and the church continued to grow in its first year. On Christmas Eve of 2004 we were blessed to be able to move into our 4,000 square foot facility where we are currently meeting, which sits on 4 acres of land that awaits our future growth.
