A Place For You...New Beginnings
Have you ever felt like you are not spiritual enough for God to love you? Or perhaps you're feeling that God won't accept you because of your past or present choices in life. Maybe you have considered going to a church as soon as you change your life and can present yourself worthy before God. It could be you have experienced being hurt in a church and feel you are better off by yourself. Some feel they don't have the right clothes, or are uncomfortable going to a traditional church.
Our desire is to pattern ourselves after the churches in the Bible. They were empowered by the Holy Spirit to learn, grow, and share the love of Jesus together. It is our goal to do that very same thing - to open our doors to everyone and anyone who wants to come in, so that we may work, play, pray, laugh, and sometimes cry together. If you believe that you have found what truth is in life, or are unsure and are seeking truth, then there is a place for you here at Calvary Chapel Deltona.
Welcome!
Pastor Mark and Sharon previously attended and served Calvary Chapel Sawgrass in Davie, Florida for six years where Pastor Mark served as the Associate Pastor. Senior Pastor at Calvary Chapel Sawgrass, Gary Mauro, not only encouraged the church plant in Deltona, but also stated, "This will be Calvary Chapel Sawgrass' main evangelistic effort in 2004!"
The leadership at Calvary Chapel Sawgrass, along with many of the church menbers, got behind the effort by making phone calls, mailing letters and praying for the new church start.
The Vision for Ministry
Our philosophy of ministry in the local church is taken from Ephesians 4:11-16, where we are told that the function of the local church is to "prepare God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up..." Acts 2:42-47 says the early Christians "devoted themselves continuously to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer...and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved."
In our worship service teaching will be both topical and verse-by-verse in a practical manner, emphasizing application in our lives.
As we apply this Biblical teaching, and encounter loving fellowship and prayer, we have found that Christians and their families grow into balanced, healthy, fruitful maturity, sharing their faith naturally and happily, and the Lord adds to the church regularly those who are being saved.
When Christians move away from these foundational doctrines to those that are less essential, there is always discord and setting barriers up in the church, something we at Calvary Chapel have no desire to do. Instead, we long for unity among all, and we allow a great deal of flexibility even within our own church.
